The Houle project led to the production of three usable software tools. You can find here detailed information about those tools, as well as download links:
- The ALC algorithm (Alternate Levels Clustering) constitutes the final contribution of this project. It analyzes an audio scene in a bottom-up manner, drawing inspiration from human modes of perception, with minimal prior knowledge abou the analyzed scene.
- SimScene is an automatic tool for the semi-automatic generation of audio scenes, dedicated to the thorough evaluation of analysis systems with a reliable ground truth. It is able to generate on demand a large number of distinct scenes following a generic high-level description.
- K-averages is an iterative hard clustering algorithm using inter-object similarities, which yields better results than the literature standard while running 20 to 100 times faster.
